Wow. WOW! First, 2020 is underway! We’re officially 23 days in as of this post. I can’t believe we’re in a new decade, a fresh decade, and how “futuristic” that sounds! Let’s first recap 2019 for those that may not follow me on social media, and if you don’t – WHY NOT?? Find me!
2019 was by far the best year I’ve ever had as a photographer. I started in 2010 to pursue this as a professional career, and it took me nine years to bloom into what I am today. I’ve shot everything under the sun in those nine years, from weddings to families to new borns and products. Around 2015 I had am idea to try real estate. So a fellow photographer friend of mine gave me a name to check out that shot real estate. I contacted them and they hired me as a sub contract photographer. I did that for a few years and refined my skills. January 2019, I decided to branch out 100% on my own.
Not knowing what to expect and not really having many contacts, I marketed myself at local events, used Facebook and Instagram heavily to promote and advertise and tried to get my website on the first page of Google. Well, it worked! I was amazed and thankful at how busy I was the entire year.
I started 2019 by making a goal list of items I wanted to accomplish and I successfully notched all the goals. Some big ones included: shooting a million dollar listing, and I did, several of them! Getting my FAA 107 remote pilot license. This was a huge goal for me that I was most proud of!
So what’s ahead for 2020? First off to expand further on a 2019 goal of shooting more video. I have several clients that have me shoot photo and video walkthroughs on all their listings and that helps. I’m looking to further grow my creative skills and offer top-notch video production, not just for real estate. Another goal is to get into more Airbnb’s. I shot a LOT of AIrbnb’s last year and I feel I’m offering more than what others offer with Airbnb shoots. I include detail shots of the space and amenities that my clients have commented on how much they love that I include those. Nashville is building exclusive complexes that are Airbnb condos, and I want to be a part of it!
My ultimate goal is to become one of Nashville’s premiere go to real estate photographers. It’s a lofty goal but with the growth explosion that Nashville is experiencing, it’s obtainable!
Something else that is exciting is the further development of the website I use to deliver images and video. They’re a new company that is working hard to be the best real estate website that there is. There’s a 2.0 update coming soon to their site, which will add additional features and help make your listings stand out!
So there’s where we stand so far. I’m really looking forward to this year’s potential and growth! Contact me and let’s get your listing sold!
